Proofreading Rates

NOTE:  I do reserve the right to charge a higher rate for transcripts that have a large number of errors or that require a large amount of research for expert witness or technical testimony.  Although I rarely apply this upcharge, I will contact you regarding any transcript that might be charged at a higher rate.

Scoping Rates

NOTE:  I do reserve the right to charge a higher rate for transcript growth if the transcript grows more than 10 percent.  This higher rate would only apply to the pages that the transcript grows beyond 10 percent, and I would communicate any additional charge to you as soon as I recognized that it would be applicable.

All rates are based on business hours of 8 a.m to 8 p.m. eastern time.  Jobs received after 8 p.m. will be logged in as received at 8 a.m. the next morning for purposes of determining the rate based on required turnaround time.

I do not charge Rush return or Expedited return rates for jobs submitted over the weekend if the required turnaround time is Standard return.

I will confirm receipt of each job and also confirm the job return date based on the requested turnaround time.

Invoicing

New Client Billing:  New clients will be billed immediately upon completion of their first job, and payment is due within 14 days.  All subsequent jobs will default to standard billing.

Standard Billing:  Invoices will be e-mailed on the first of each month for all jobs completed in the previous month.  Payment is due within 30 days.  For payments not received within 30 days, there is a 10% late fee based on the invoice total.

Job Submission Policies

Prior to sending your transcript, contact me with job details including page count and due date so that I can confirm my availability.

If you have a Rush return or Expedited return proofreading job that is longer than 100 pages and you do not have a complete transcript to send to me at the time the job orders, please send the job to me in sections of approximately 50 to 100 pages at a time as you work through it.  This will allow us both to work on the job at the same time to ensure the turnaround time is met while still producing a high-quality final transcript.
